Film Project Explanation:
During the Spring of 2025, we are filming our narrative short film, "Calora". The film follows a renowned calligraphy artist, Calora, who is haunted by lost love and a fractured past. She finds herself drawn back to the struggling circus she once called home to reunite with her former mentor, only to realize that the loss of the man she loved may be the key to reclaiming the artist she was always meant to be.
A Note from Our Director, Music Miranda:
In 2019, my mentor passed away. I was a poet and he assisted me and helped me find the love for myself I didn’t know I needed. After his death, I stopped writing and my poetry slowly died down. In 2023, I went to his grave for the first time in 4 years. I started to begin writing again. The sense of going to his grave and accepting who I am and who I was made me able to find myself again. Sometimes it’s about taking that step. Sometime it’s about knowing who you become. But sometimes, it’s loss that makes you realize who you truly can be.
I want to tell the audience to not be lost because of loss but to be found because of it.
Creating this film means a lot to me and people who have been dealing with grief when it comes to art. Helping fund this project will go to mainly Production Design to create a world of artistry and love.
