Hello, our names are Angel and Tyler. We're setting up a gofundme to help pay for the life saving treatment of our little puppy, Luffy, who is being treated for Puppy Strangles.

His name is based on the main character of One Piece. Luffy (Loo-fee).

Luffy is just a puppy, trying to become the king of the puppy pirates. but he’s already fighting a battle no dog should ever have to face. It started with his first routine vet visit where he was all good apart from a minor ear infection that the vet helped him with and sent us home with some medicine.

Fast forward a few days. Ears are fine but his eyes are now red and look infected. We go to vet and they give us eye drops and help clean him up. We noticed bleeding and red puffy eyelids as well. They cleaned him, we paid for everything and a plastic cone for him from the vet.

Three days later he is not really improving and we got a new soft cone to replace his hard plastic one that he didnt like and seemed to irritate him by his neck/ears. I replaced his cone but noticed two brown soft spots under both of his ears, a bit bigger than a thumb on each side from his ears to his jaw. I thought it was just normal brusing until later that night after cleaning him up and setting him up to sleep, I woke up around midnight to him wimpering and looked over to my right just beside the couch where i slept near him and saw that both wounds under his ears had popped, and all the blood stored within was dripping down the sides of his face. I quickly got up and grabbed the nearest stuff I could to clean up as much of the blood as possible and rushed to the hospital (people hospital) to get wound cleaning equipment as nothing else was open in our town at this time. I got proper stuff and cleaned him up to the best of my ability and then he fell asleep with the wounds cleaned and dressed. I saw him get up to go pee and poo, but he seemed to be struggling to use his back legs which raised concern with me, when he was done I realized he was not using either back leg to walk back to his bed. I tried to give him some food but he straight up refused, until this moment he had never refused food in his young, hungry, vacumous, life That was it, time to go to the vet.

He went from being playful and full of life to suddenly lethargic, in pain, and struggling to eat and walk. We rushed him to the vet, where he was diagnosed with puppy strangles, a rare, dangerous immune disease that causes painful swelling, infections, necrotic lesions, and can become life-threatening without immediate treatment.

Luffy didn’t do anything to deserve this. He’s just a baby who should be worrying about toys and naps, not survival.

His treatment involves strong medications, repeated vet visits, and close monitoring to keep his immune system from attacking his own body. The cost is overwhelming, but walking away from him isn’t an option he’s family.

We’re doing everything we can to save him, but we can’t do it alone.

Every donation, no matter how small, helps give Luffy the chance to grow up, to run, to play, and to live the long, happy life he deserves.

Thank you for standing with our captain, Luffy.
