Hi, my name is Nicky and I am acting on behalf of a local foster carer. Many locals to Warrnambool would remember the beautiful feline that has spent we figured, around 4 years living amongst other dumped kittens, cats, chickens and goodness knows what else out at our local reserve, Levys. We all knew about her, but no one could get near her. After losing our dear cat to cancer in November I decided to see if I could spend the summer locating and befriending this girl and see if she could be humanly brought out of the situation she had unfortunately found herself in due to terrible humans. At Christmas she had kittens and when they were a couple of weeks old she introduced them to me. So I contacted a local foster carer after this and daily feedings and we devised a plan for her and her babes. On the 1st of February after a summer of building a friendship with her, we managed to convince her that the affection she sought could result in a loving home. That day both herself and her 3 kittens were taken into care. This of course is a labour of love, but we are hoping that our local community could help out with her rehabilitation. She needs vet work. Desexing etc and it would be lovely if we could get the kittens seen to also before they find the very best of homes . Financially myself and her carer have handled costs up to this point , but we would sooo appreciate assistance with veterinary costs especially as her dear carer who has brought her so far, is caring for chickens that had been dumped out there, and has carried the cost of rescued kittens from out there previously. We don’t ask for a lot, but honestly every little bit helps, especially as we try to bring awareness to the terrible and inhumane dumping of animals out there, and the impact not only on them, but our native wildlife as well.
