Our parents, Walter and Katy Minor, are 79 years young and have spent their entire lives working hard to provide for themselves and our family. They’ve been married for 61 years—a true partnership built on love, resilience, and showing up for each other every single day. Even now, our mom continues to work a part-time job every day, because that’s simply who she is.

Recently, our dad was diagnosed with liver cancer, and as you can imagine, it has turned our world upside down. In the months ahead, he will need to travel about 1.5 hours each way for treatments, adding both emotional and financial strain during an already difficult time.

We are creating this fundraiser with one clear goal: to help relieve some of that burden by paying off the remaining balance of their mortgage, which is $10,000. Eliminating this monthly expense would give them one less thing to worry about as they focus on his treatment, recovery, and spending meaningful time together. It will also help offset the added costs of frequent travel to and from appointments and co-pays.

Our parents have always been the ones to show up for others—quietly, consistently, and without asking for anything in return. Now, we are hoping to show up for them in the same way.

Any contribution, no matter the size, will go directly toward paying off their mortgage and easing the financial pressure they are facing right now.
