Hello everyone,
Our family is going through the most difficult time of our lives. Our beautiful mother Cheri Forget was recently diagnosed with Invasive Lobular Carcinoma of the breast, a rare and aggressive form of breast cancer that has already spread to her bowels, uterus, and ovaries. Her tumor is estrogen and progesterone receptor positive, and while treatment options are available to slow the progression, the cancer is considered stage IV and the road ahead is long and scary. She recently underwent a total hysterectomy, and after a rough two weeks in the hospital, she is in recovery at home. Our mom is a strong, loving, and generous woman who has always put her own needs aside to put her family first. We would regret it forever if we didn't do everything in our power to help her during these tough times.
We are incredibly grateful that our work has been understanding and supportive, giving my father, Michael Forget extended time off during this difficult time. For almost two months now my dad has been off of work to be by her side day to day. My father's presence at home right now is essential, not only for my mother's physical and emotional care, but also to tend to the children and pets in their care.
Unfortunately, the financial strain of this situation is mounting quickly. Between medical expenses, travel costs for appointments, and the challenge of feeding a family of five on EI payments, the burden is more than we can handle alone.
We’re asking for any help you’re able to give to support our family during this time. Your donations will allow my father to remain by her side as long as he's needed, without the added stress of financial hardship. Every contribution, big or small, will make a real difference in helping our family fight this battle to the best of our abilities.
Thank you for keeping our mom in your thoughts, and for supporting our family in this tough time.
With love and appreciation,
The Forget Family
Edit:
Thank you all very much for the support so far. You may notice we have made my father the beneficiary for this fundraiser. My parents have shared accounts, so the funds we collect go directly to both of them, for her and their children at home. just wanted to be fully transparent!
