Help Support Our Mom Through Stage 4 Lung Cancer
Hi, my name is Jade, and I’m fundraising for my mom, Angela.
In March 2025, our lives changed when my mom was diagnosed with Stage 3B adenocarcinoma of the right lower lung. She immediately began treatment and courageously completed multiple rounds of chemotherapy and radiation. Despite everything she endured, the cancer unfortunately spread to her liver, and in June 2025, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic cancer.
She is now on a daily chemotherapy pill regimen consisting of 8 pills per day, which she will take for the rest of her life as long as the medication continues to work. Based on this treatment, her prognosis is 2–5 years.
My mom worked for TriHealth for 23 years, dedicating her career to helping others. She has been on long-term disability through her employer, but due to policy limitations, she was terminated on December 9, 2025 after nine months on LTD. This has created an overwhelming financial burden for our family.
Because of this:
• She is losing her employer-based health insurance for both herself and my brother
• Continuing that insurance would cost nearly $2,000 per month out of pocket, not including prescription costs
• She has been approved for SSI disability, but her income will still decrease by $700 per month starting next month
• We are actively working to get her approved for Medicaid, but the process has been difficult and slow
While a change in insurance may help cover her chemotherapy medication, it is only one of several daily prescriptions she depends on, along with regular medical care and living expenses.
Despite everything she is facing, my mom is incredibly blessed to have a strong support system consisting of her family, her mother, her two children, her son-in-law, and her two grandsons, Liam and Joey, as well as her friends and former coworkers who continue to surround her with love and encouragement.
On top of the financial stress, we want to give my mom something deeply meaningful: the chance to plan her own funeral, celebration of life, and burial. Not many people are given the opportunity to make those decisions themselves, and we want to honor her wishes while easing the emotional and financial burden on our family when the time comes.
This has been incredibly hard on all of us, but especially on my mom—who continues to face everything with strength, grace, and love for her family.
We are asking for help to:
• Cover medical and prescription expenses
• Help with insurance costs and basic living expenses
• Offset lost income
• Allow my mom to plan her final arrangements with peace of mind
Any donation, no matter the size, truly makes a difference. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page means just as much.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for supporting our mom during the hardest chapter of her life. Our family is beyond grateful for your kindness, prayers, and generosity.
With love,
Jade
