The Last Act of Lady Jane
Donation protected
Our dearest Lady Jane (Mamma Bear) just received the final script for her last act here on Earth. On March 1st, Jane was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer that has unfortunately spread to other areas in her body. At this stage, there is no cure or treatment that will make it better.
In her lifetime, she's played many roles - from a guardian to a gatekeeper, a concierge of smiles, a master of music with a song for every occasion - to her most critically acclaimed role - a loving mother of 3 grown children, and grandmother.
This diagnosis comes with the understanding that there are only a few weeks or months left before she makes her way to the heavens.
This news has been devastating, as nothing can prepare you for the finality of cancer, the hopelessness of treatment options, or the grief that sets in as you realize: This. Is. It. The only thing we can do now is take it a day at a time, and make each day a celebration of life with her loved ones.
She has spent her entire life taking care of others, putting her needs last, and offering a welcoming heart to anyone that needed it without question. My wish for her is to know how much she is loved and what an impact she has made along the way.
To support her transition into the next life, we are raising funds to cover living expenses and medical costs. Due to the diagnosis, she will no longer be able to work and her health insurance will no longer be covered by her current job. Myself, and my siblings have begun to take over her bills and put together a bucket list of memories to make before her last curtain call.
Aside from financial donations, I'd like to start collecting greeting cards to brighten her days with; words of encouragement, a shared memory, or some humor to keep things light as we go down this difficult road together.
