We are starting this GoFundMe on behalf of our daughter and son-in-law, whose lives changed forever when our sweet grandson suffered a catastrophic brain injury. He is currently in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Mercy Children’s Hospital, fighting through one of the hardest battles a child can face. Due to the severity of his injury, doctors were forced to remove approximately one-third of his brain and 40% of his skull to save his life. He is expected to remain in the PICU and hospital long-term, and this is only the beginning of a long road ahead.

Our grandson will require extensive rehabilitation including physical therapy, occupational therapy, cognitive therapy, and long-term supportive care. His parents are doing everything they can to stay by his side, but the emotional and financial strain is overwhelming. They are facing mounting medical bills, time away from work, travel expenses, and the unknowns that come with long-term neurological recovery.

We are reaching out to our community, family, friends, and anyone moved by his story to help support this young family as they navigate the unimaginable.
