A Warrior’s Battle:
Supporting GiGi Through Breast Cancer
My name is Brieya Englehart, and I am 11 years old. My brother Braxton and I wanted to start a GoFundMe in hopes of helping support our GiGi.
GiGi is our grandmother, who some of you may know as MaryAnne Englehart. On October 22nd, 2024, our GiGi was diagnosed with Stage 3, Triple Negative Breast Cancer. Her doctor told her that it was so aggressive that had it happened to her 10 years ago, she would not have made it through this.
However, GiGi is a true warrior who has battled this breast cancer bravely and fiercely! Throughout her journey, she has shown incredible strength, resilience, and determination. She started chemotherapy in November. During her treatment, GiGi faced numerous challenges, from the grueling chemo sessions, reactions to half of the medications, to (most recently) a painful surgery.
The holidays were very different this year. My brother and I tend to get sick a lot, so we weren’t able to be around her as much due to the risk of getting her sick. Because of this, she had to miss out on a lot of things, like our basketball games and different school events that she would normally go to. It was really hard on all of us, but especially on her!
Despite all of these obstacles, she remained positive and focused on her recovery! One of the hardest things for her was having to leave her job that she absolutely loved! She always talked about how much she loved taking care of her patients, which we can only imagine with how well she takes care of us! So now, as she moves forward in her journey and continues to heal and recover, we want to make sure that she has the support and care that she needs. Our goal is to help alleviate some of the financial burdens that come with cancer treatment.
The funds raised through this campaign will go towards supporting GiGi’s ongoing care, including medical expenses, transportation, and any additional needs she may have as she prepares to start radiation soon. Your contribution will help ease the financial strain on our family, allowing us to focus on what’s MOST important—GiGi’s health and well-being!
We are SO very grateful for any amount you can give! Every little bit counts, and every gesture of kindness gets us closer to ensuring that GiGi gets the care she deserves.
Let’s come together to support this incredible woman who has touched so many lives. Your generosity will help GiGi heal, recover, and thrive.
Thank you so much for being a part of this journey with us!
