Our dear friend Megan Caruso is facing one of the hardest battles of her life. Recently, doctors found a large tumor behind her knee, identified as a rare and aggressive cancer — either Extraskeletal Myxoid Chondrosarcoma or Liposarcoma. Her sarcoma specialist in Neptune, NJ has recommended immediate surgery, with more treatments and procedures to follow.

What makes this journey even more difficult is that Megan is not only fighting for her own health — she’s also the loving mother of her 22 year old daughter Alyssa, 10-year-old daughter Mia, and her 8-year-old son, John Jr., who has Autism Spectrum Disorder, Severe Sensory Disorder, and is nonverbal. At the same time, her mother is undergoing chemotherapy for her own battle with cancer.  

Through all of this, Megan continues to show strength and grace, but the financial burden is overwhelming. Her husband John works hard to support the family but out-of-pocket costs have already exceeded $7,400 and will continue to rise with each hospital visit, surgery, and the frequent travel from Little Egg Harbor to Neptune for her treatments.

We are raising $12,000 to help ease these financial pressures — covering medical bills, travel expenses, and the countless other costs that come with such a heavy fight. This support will allow Megan to focus on healing, being there for her son, and standing strong with her mom through their shared battle.
