Help Support Mandy Post-surgery!

My name is James Jacobs. I'm a tattoo artist, and I own Enso Tattoo in Calgary, Alberta. I am attempting to raise funds to help support Mandy Wendt. She is a wonderful friend and a fellow tattooist who is unable to work while she awaits surgery on her right hand. We will know the surgery date when she sees the surgeon June 27. The surgery is for a chronic high grade UCL (ulnar collateral ligament) thumb tear and lesion. She will be unable to work for 12 weeks after surgery, and obviously until then. Mandy is an incredibly hard working single mom, and a small business owner. She's been tattooing since 2006 and has been a staple in Calgary's tattoo community. Unfortunately the injury to her thumb is testimony to her hard work as it is a work-related issue. Many other tattoo artists will know very well that if we don't work we don't get paid. Hard work is the only option, but unfortunately this is not an option for Mandy right now until she heals. I'm not looking for handouts for some selfish cause. I am asking for the tattoo community and our friends and family to come together and help support one of our own in a time of need. I can only hope that if something like this were to happen to me or you, that our friends would rally together to help. Any funds raised over and above our goal will be donated to the Calgary Women's Shelter, to help other single moms in need.
