I’m reaching out to ask for help for someone who means a great deal to me — my friend, Lyle Vogler.

While I’ve only known Lyle for about three years, in that time he’s become like a brother to me. If you’ve ever met Lyle, you know exactly what I mean when I say his heart for others is something special. He’s the first to show up when someone needs help, always volunteering his time, whether it’s serving his community as a reserve deputy, helping on a local campaign, or just being the kind of friend who checks in when you least expect it but most need it. Lyle has always put others before himself.

In 2023, a tornado touched down very near to my home, and Lyle knew that I was gone and that my wife was at home. He jumped in his truck and went to go check on her, helping her to get the generator started. Once he made sure that she was okay, he went on to help clear the roads of downed trees and to see if anyone else needed any help.

Recently, Lyle made a big move out of state to be closer to his family and to start a new job — a decision rooted, as always, in love and care for others. Suddenly after making the move, he got the devastating news that he has a tumor that is a rare form of stomach cancer. This diagnosis came during a difficult transition between jobs and insurance coverage, and he has been faced with overwhelming emergency medical bills that have been piling up fast.

Lyle’s always been the one helping others, and now it’s our turn to help him. I know we probably can’t erase the financial burden completely, but I believe we can make a real difference and show him just how loved and supported he is.
