My family and I are facing an incredibly challenging time. I am currently 31 weeks pregnant and caring for our toddler, and during this pregnancy, I received the life-changing news that I have a brain tumor in the right frontal lobe of my brain. This diagnosis means I will need to undergo chemotherapy and radiation, all while preparing for a set induction at 34 weeks due to this discovery and the challenges from both early induction and a cancer diagnosis, the whirlwind of emotions and uncertainty has been overwhelming. But we are doing our best to stay strong for our family and our babies.
The financial strain of medical bills, travel for treatment, and the costs of living with a new baby on the way is significant. And cost of treatments with travel. With only one income and so many unexpected expenses, we are reaching out for support from our community. Every bit of help will go directly toward ensuring I can access the care I need and provide stability for my children during this difficult time.
As always, nothing is expected but any support is greatly appreciated. This abrupt change in life’s perspective has also made us want to bring awareness to the signs that led to this diagnosis, in hopes that it might help someone else. And connect with families or people who’ve been in our same path. Thank you for reading our story and for any kindness or support you can offer.
