Hello, my name is Amanda and my mom is scheduled for shoulder surgery on Tuesday, December 2nd, and will need 3–4 months to recover. During this time, she won’t be able to work, and we’re facing major expenses for rent, utilities, food, and medical bills.

Our family has faced challenges before. In 2013, a tornado destroyed my dad’s workplace, and when his company relocated to North Carolina, we stayed to care for his parents. Due to mobility issues, my dad couldn’t find suitable work and has been on disability ever since, with his health continuing to decline. My mom has been our main provider through it all, despite her own health struggles—fibromyalgia, severe arthritis in her back and hips, hernia surgery, a previous shoulder surgery, knee replacement, shingles, and meningitis. She has endured so much yet continues to work tirelessly for our family.

This time, we know we can’t make it alone. That’s why I’m setting up this fundraiser—because my mom would never ask for help herself.
