My heart is completely broken as I share that my brother passed away tragically while vacationing in Costa Rica. Our family is completely devastated.

This loss came without any warning or preparation.

His wife and their two sons are now facing an unimaginable and traumatic situation far from home. In the middle of their grief, they have had to extend their stay in Costa Rica to handle everything that comes with a sudden loss in another country.

For those who didn’t know Cody, he was everything to us. He was a stand-up man—someone you could always rely on to brighten your day. No matter what he was going through, he went out of his way to lift others up. He was full of life, full of endless jokes, and full of love.

Cody was a devoted husband to his sweetheart, Kaysi, and a dedicated father to their two boys. His sons were his world, and he was so proud of them. He was deeply involved in their lives and in everything that made them who they are.

“Coach Cody,” as his former students lovingly called him, was adored by the Falcon Ridge Elementary community. We know this news will hit them hard as well.
