I am a volunteer with a small group, operating a library at our local elementary school (BridgePrep Academy of Osceola, in Poinciana, Florida – a tuition-free, public-charter, Title I school). Your help would be appreciated: Donate money for furnishings, supplies, and books.

To improve literacy and inspire a lifetime love of books and reading, we created a library in 2023 to serve the 400+ students in Kindergarten through 5th grade. Teachers and literacy specialists are using the library books for their important work.

We installed shelving, gathered over 6,000 books, and organized them in a professional and easy-to-maintain manner (Fiction and Nonfiction using the Dewey Decimal System, spine label stickers, genre stickers, and school library ink stamps). The volunteer, former librarians also setup an online catalog.

The selection of books is “old school”: We’ve found gently-used free or inexpensive books from various places, established an Amazon Wish List for direct-purchase donations, and curated the books for topics and reading levels appropriate for five- to eleven-year-olds.

We opened the library in September of 2023, to the excitement of lots of grinning, young people. The students and staff are loving the library, and it is making a wonderful impact on the families in our local area.

Thanks to your wonderful donations and volunteer work, it looks great! Yet, we need some additional furnishings, supplies, and of course, more books! We are working on making our library book collection a well-rounded collection, and we still have some gaps to fill.

We hope you will consider a donation. You will be hard pressed to find a more economical, long-lasting, and beneficial place for your charity dollars.
