On the evening of June 27th, our lives changed in an instant. Our dad suffered a stroke that has left him facing a long and difficult road to recovery. Dad was discharged from Mass General Brigham on July 2nd and is currently receiving medical care and therapy at Spaulding Rehab.
Anyone who knows our dad knows he is a hardworking, kind, and generous man who has always been there for others. As a result of the stroke, dad has right sided hemiparesis and has to relearn everyday activities including how to walk again. He has both expressive and receptive aphasia and apraxia of speech.
Through it all, our mom has been his rock, providing constant love and support. Mom is by her husband of 52 years side every evening and feeds him dinner. She’s doing everything she can, and is definitely going to need support when dad comes home on July 23rd. We are raising funds to help ease some of the pressure and allow our mom to focus on what matters most — helping dad heal.
Your support will help cover: hospital and rehabilitation expenses, in-home care and medical equipment and everyday bills as mom’s last day of work at Whidden Hospital is this Friday.
Every donation, food or monetary, means the world to us. Most of all, we ask for your prayers and positive thoughts during this challenging time. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your love and support.
With gratitude,
