If you’ve ever stopped by The Lot Radio Kiosk for a coffee in the past five years, there’s a good chance you’ve been greeted by Lola.

For years, Lola has been an important part of our little community—running the radio with kindness, forming connections with regulars, first-time visitors, and radio guests alike, and for helping make The Lot feel like home.

Recently, Lola was diagnosed with cancer. She is now stepping away from work to begin treatment and focus on her health.

Like many hourly workers, being unable to work means a significant loss of income at a time when life has suddenly become much more difficult. While she is eligible for New York State disability benefits, they replace only a small portion of her wages*. We want to help ease the financial burden so she can focus on what matters most: her treatment and recovery.

With her permission, we’ve created this fundraiser to help cover the cost of the surgery and living expenses such as rent, groceries, transportation to medical appointments, and other necessities during this challenging time.
