Help Support Our Aunt’s Fight for Her Life

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

I’m writing this on behalf of my cousins, Dian, who is still in high school, and Justin, who recently graduated and has just begun his university to pursue his dream of becoming a pilot.

Right now, their mother, my beloved aunt, Nanay Joce, is in the ICU in the Philippines, fighting for her life.

Six years ago, my aunt went through a traumatic and life-altering medical emergency. She went into early labor and tragically lost her baby. During that, she suffered massive blood loss and was deprived of oxygen which resulted to her falling into a coma that lasted for three long months.

After many moons of prayers and hope, she finally woke up but had forgotten EVERYTHING, from her memory, her ability to speak, move, eat, and all she could do was blink and raise her eyebrows.

But she didn’t give up, with incredible strength, determination, and resilience, she fought back. Since then, she relearned everything from scratch, from learning how to talk, how to walk, and how to be present again.

The most beautiful moment of all was when she was finally able to speak and share her love to my cousins again, her children that continously prayed for her.

That miracle was something we will never forget.

But now, I am devastated to share that she has once again fallen unconscious and is now in a coma again.

She is in intensive care, on life support, and fighting for her life for the second time. Her condition is fragile and requires constant medical attention, specialized equipment, and another long road to recovery when she wakes up.

We’re doing everything we can to stay strong for her, and to give her the best chance to wake up again.

Though she’s in a coma now, we believe in her strength.

Just like how she’s come back once before we know that that spark is still inside her.
