Hello, our names are LaRisha and Gervona! We are both special education teachers and mothers of boys that have Autism. We have discovered the need to open a sensory gym in our community. We wanted to provide space that is safe and welcoming for children with and without special needs. This gym will provide supports with sensory needs, social emotional supports, building strength, and providing access to activities that would be difficult to access. We also want to support the children and their parents! Please help us make this dream a reality! This important to us because we do not have a local space where our sons or students can receive extra supports and access to activities outside of school. The funds will be used to obtain an appropriate space, purchasing the necessary gym equipment, and providing the proper training to staff to meet the needs of our clients.
