Hello Everyone, On Wednesday Evening 1/17/24 onyx was observed acting out of the ordinary. He later lost the ability to use either of his hind legs and was unable to stand or walk by himself and needed to be carried out to use the restroom. Thursday morning he was rushed to the Emergency vet and was later taken in for testing. Thursday evening Onyx underwent spinal surgery to remove clots and damaged tissue caused by hemorrhaging around his spine. The hope is that with this surgery the compression on his spine will be released and we can begin his journey to rehabilitation. We are thrilled to report that the surgery was a massive success and the Doctors hope Onyx will make a full recovery! We will be rehabilitating Onyx at home once he is released from the hospital. He will be in post-surgery recovery for a minimum of four-six weeks before starting rehab with his vet. This life saving surgery, testing and rehabilitation doesn’t come without its own financial burden. We are raising money to assist with covering Onyx’s current and future medical expenses. Anyone who knows Onyx and has gotten a chance to love him knows how much this sweet boy means to us. Anything you can donate is beyond appreciated. We cannot thank you enough for your support during this extremely difficult time. It means the world to us Hug your fur babies extra tight and send Big Boy some healing vibes. We will continue to update everyone with his progress.
