Hi everyone, 

 

We are creating this GoFund Me page to support our Godson, our best friend and their family on a journey no family should have to go through. 

 

At 10 years old our Godson Olly O’Brien was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of blood cancer -Philadelphia Positive Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. Olly has been battling this for 3 years. He initially

completed several rounds of harsh chemotherapy which made him severely poorly for the best part of 2 years. He then shortly relapsed. Everyone’s world fell apart with this being soon after he had completed treatment. Thankfully, Olly was offered a specialist treatment at GOSH called CAR T-cell therapy. This treatment happened Spring/Summer 2025 and everything seemed great, low side effects and positive results. 

 

Unfortunately, in less than 4 months the family found out that Olly relapsed again late September 2025. It came completely left field and has shocked everyone, after such a positive Summer. Olly is now facing a stem cell transplant which will render him in hospital for many months while he fights again. It will also come with life changing side effects. 

 

Olly and his family have been battling this for 3 years from the ages of 10-13. Life on pause, special moments tarnished and living in constant stress and anxiety. 

 

Not only are the family battling this horrendous condition. They now concern themselves with work, paying the bills and supporting themselves. 

 

Ollys Mom Emma is now off work so that she can support her Son, as every Mom would want to but unfortunately this will have long-term impacts. So to add to all their stress , financial ruin is also in the families mind. 

 

This Go Fund Me is to help support the family on that journey. 

 

Over the past 3 years many members within the families circle have raised money for Cancer research and we will continue to do so. 

 

Friends and family feel powerless watching the family go through this. We cant cure Ollys cancer but we can help take away the financial stress. Please help us in doing something for them. Our goal is £20,000. 

 

If we hit £10,000 , Danielle and Leanne (who are not fit ) will run a half marathon in an awfully uncomfortable outfit. If we hit £20,000 we will run a full marathon. Believe me, this is not something we want to do!
