Dear Friends, Family, and Kind-Hearted Strangers,
I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart and hopeful spirit to share the story of my cousin Oliver Pearce. Oliver is a dedicated gymnastics coach at Pegasus Gym in Maidstone who has touched the lives of countless children, including those with social, physical, and learning disabilities. His passion for helping others and his unwavering commitment to his students has made him a cherished member of his community.
Unfortunately, Oliver had a life-altering accident on 6th July 2024 leaving him paralysed from the neck down. This sudden and devastating event has turned his life, and the lives of those who love him, upside down.
But Oliver’s story doesn’t end here. Thanks to the incredible love and support of his family , along with the tireless efforts of the wonderful NHS staff, Oliver has made remarkable progress. Against all odds, he has begun to regain some movement in parts of his body, a testament to his unyielding spirit and determination to recover.
Oliver is currently receiving care at Maidstone Hospital after six weeks at King's College Hospital in London, and will soon be transferred to Stoke Mandeville, one of the world's leading specialist spinal hospitals. This transition marks the next crucial step in his long journey towards rehabilitation, and while the road ahead is challenging, Oliver's courage inspires us all.
The NHS is doing everything possible to support Oliver, but there are still significant financial burdens that his family will face. These include loss of income due to Oliver's inability to work, time away from work for his family as they support him, and the need for specialised equipment to aid in his recovery and rehabilitation.
We are asking for your help to support Oliver during this difficult time. Your generous donations will support his ongoing rehabilitation
and therapy to give him the best chance at regaining as much independence as possible.
Every donation, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference in Oliver's journey. If you are unable to contribute financially, we kindly ask that you share Oliver’s story with others who may be able to help.
Oliver has always been there for others, dedicating his life to helping children of all abilities achieve their goals and dreams. Now, it’s our turn to be there for him.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, generosity, and support. Together, we can help Oliver face the challenges ahead and give him the best possible chance at recovery.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Brad (Oliver's cousin)
PS: For transparency, Karen (a cousin of Oliver's) is acting as beneficiary for this campaign and is, with permission, managing the funds on behalf of Oliver and his immediate family.
