My name is Mary Sowden and I am fundraising on behalf of Old Mill Alpacas. I've been volunteering there for over two years now and the farm has provided me with so much joy and happiness. The owner Amy is one of the most remarkable people I have ever met. She is always eager to share the farm and the joy her animals bring with everyone from busloads of 50+ people to school groups to families with special needs. Over my time volunteering here, I have had the pleasure of witnessing our animals bring joy and comfort to people of all ages, from young children to seniors. 

Due to the lockdowns and being closed to the public, we are unable to offer tours and treks which is what generates a lot of our income and while we have been seeking support from the government, we have received very little help. Whilst bringing in little to no income, farmers still have animals that rely on them. For us,  we have 86 alpacas along with our livestock guardian dogs and barn cats that rely on us for food and care and right now, we are in need of financial support to allow this beautiful place to continue touching lives.  To me, Old Mill Alpacas isn't just a business, it's my happy place and I know it's the same for so many others.  When you donate you will be helping us feed and shear the alpacas during this difficult time.
