Since March of 2022, Noah has suffered from a serious stomach/intestinal ailment which causes constant extreme pain, discomfort, and difficulty functioning normally, altering the course of his entire life. Despite numerous doctor visits, medical tests, procedures, medicines, and more, this ailment has remained extremely problematic.
Food intake became extremely difficult to near impossible as his body rejected most foods. What he was able to get down caused extreme digestive pain and discomfort. This inability to digest solid food and sustain nutrient intake resulted in a major secondary ailment, Superior Mesenteric Artery (SMA) syndrome, to develop. An all-liquid diet of very expensive medical-grade nutrient drinks was deemed necessary. While these drinks were generally accepted by his body and allowed consistent caloric/nutrient intake, the artery’s state had become very poor, adding excruciating & further debilitating pain alongside the original stomach/intestine pain. Working a job – even part time – became impossible, nor was it recommended, as a full focus on improving his health was priority. With the loss of ability to attain income, medical related and other debt stacked up.
Unfortunately, in May of 2025, Noah experienced a seizure with no diagnosed prior condition and no reason found in follow-up testing. The seizure severely damaged his back: four parts of the spine (T1, 2, 3, 4) were broken, two lower discs were badly damaged, and nerves + muscles throughout his back were strained and have become susceptible to influxes of great pain. While fortunate not to lose any natural abilities, physical therapy and further care are needed, in addition to the continuing process of healing his original stomach/intestinal problem which had faltered after the seizure incident.
Because of the SMA issue, Noah was spending over ~70% of his day stuck in bed or the bathroom. The injuries to his back have locked him down even more. He is barely able to straighten his back or walk for periods longer than ~20 minutes before excruciating pain overwhelms him. Now, more than ever before, normal acts have turned into great challenges. The seizure/back injury with its ER, ambulance, hospital stay, tests, procedures, medicines, and the many months spent stuck in bed with constant pain have also taken a toll on his morale and mental health.
With no physical way of working and the sole focus needed on recovering from all the issues, much relief is needed. Noah longs to get himself back to a functioning state. He misses working, interacting with friends and family, caring for his beloved cats, and just being able to walk, shower, and live a normal life. Doctors have warned it is near certain he will have lasting pain his whole life from the back injury even after recovery is made. Nonetheless, a silver lining to all of this is the new perspective on life Noah has gained. He no longer takes normal daily activities for granted. He knows he is very fortunate to have immediate family with him – though their capabilities for aid are limited.
All donations received will go directly toward clearing a supportive path for Noah to continue the healing of his stomach/intestine ailment and the severe damage to his back.
This includes things such as:
- Medicines/Supplements/Nutrient-drinks (very expensive + not covered by insurance)
- Doctor visits (including many specialists who are/needed to be seen)
- Rehabilitation, recovery, relief
- Further procedures that will be needed for both the back/spine injury and for the stomach/intestinal ailment
- Basic living expenses / essential needs
- Medical debt
Generosity from anyone is immensely appreciated.
Please share + spread this with others; greater reach is very helpful.
Thank you.
