Hello everyone,

 

As some of you may know our dad was assaulted outside of the Snack Shop Monday afternoon. The individual responsible for the assault has been detained and charged. The information we've been given is that the individual is homeless and suffers from mental illness. We don't believe there was a motive, our father just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. Right now our priority is to take care of dad and hope for his recovery.

 

Our dad is currently in a coma and in intensive care. Unfortunately, there are not many updates at this time, he remains in critical condition and the doctors have told us we have a long way to recovery. He's suffered a minor stroke on the right side of his brain and the doctors are keeping him medicated and will be monitoring his brain oxygen levels and ICP levels. We will try to post updates on this page as they occur.

 

Given the recent incident, we have not had time to reach out to our insurance, but he is out of network at the moment but in the best care possible. We have not yet spoken with a medical social worker, but have been told they will be in touch soon. Emma and Nicolas are small business owners, given the accident, my mom is now left to navigate the business on her own and take care of dad. The donations collected will be used to help our mother navigate unforeseen costs, loss of income while we focus on taking care of dad. We've also received information about organizations that might be able to help with medical costs. Any donation is appreciated at this time.

 

Emma and her daughters appreciate all your support and love throughout these 20+ years we have been in the Inglewood community. The love and kindness have always been felt and we are asking for your prayers for our father. We (Emma and daughters) are taking turns watching over him. We've let him know how loved he is by everyone and in our hearts we believe he can hear us and knows we're all here for him.
