My name is Shannon Ventresca, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart.

Twenty-eight years ago, Nick Ventresca came into my life. At the time, he was dating my best friend, and he would later introduce me to the man I’ve been married to for 24 years. Nick wasn’t just a friend. He was family. He was one of the greatest people in my life, and he meant the world to my children.

On June 16, 2025, Nick was admitted to the hospital with pancreatitis. His condition deteriorated rapidly, leading to multi-organ failure. He was transferred to Rhode Island Hospital, where, tragically, he passed away the next morning.

Nick’s passing was sudden and devastating. He was only 45 years old. His family is now facing not only overwhelming grief but also the unexpected financial burden of medical bills, funeral expenses, and the many costs that come with such a heartbreaking loss.

We are starting this fundraiser to support Nick’s family during this incredibly difficult time. Every donation, no matter the size, will help ease the financial stress so they can focus on healing and honoring Nick’s memory.
