Three weeks ago, my brother-in-law had a stroke that went undiagnosed and led to him being airlifted to St. Louis University Hospital with massive brain swelling. He spent almost two weeks on life support, had part of his skull removed (due to swelling), a drain tube (excess fluid in his brain), a massive stroke which caused almost complete paralysis on his right side, and life-threatening pneumonia. He now has a tracheotomy, a feeding tube, and months of rehab and therapy ahead of him. He will have to learn to speak, swallow, and hopefully at some point walk again.
If you ever met Niah, you already know. He always has a smile on his face, laughing, and all-around positive happy vibes. Unfortunately, he was the sole provider for his family of 5: my sister, Stacy, and their three girls, ages 14, 6, and 3. My sister is now juggling trying to find employment for herself and taking care of her husband and children.
Any donations would be greatly appreciated to help make this major, extremely difficult life transition a little easier for them. Times are hard for everyone right now, even if you can’t donate, PLEASE PLEASE share and help us help this genuinely good person and his family.
