Help support new mom, Brittney, in her fight against cancer

This page is created for our friend and co-worker Tammy and her 27-year-old daughter Brittney, whom she is caring for. Brittney had a sweet baby girl on August 5th, 2024. During her pregnancy, she developed a sore in her mouth and got many different opinions from doctors on what it was. After her daughter’s birth, she had a biopsy and it was confirmed she had cancer. On September 19, she had surgery to remove the tumor, and they had to take out 50% of her tongue. They had to take ligaments and everything they needed to rebuild her tongue from her left arm. It was approximately a 22 hour surgery. They also removed 69 lymph nodes in her upper body/neck to lessen the chance of it spreading.

In October 2024, Brittney came home with a feeding tube. Tammy had been living in her house since the baby was born, taking care of the baby, taking care of Brittney, and working full-time.  All this time, she has been trying to maintain her and Brittney’s bills since Brittney could not work.

Brittney started radiation immediately and finished chemo on 1/7/25. She was supposed to have a PET scan on March 30th; however, at the beginning of March, she became very ill and was again admitted into the hospital. The last month and a half have been filled with lots of tests and back-and-forth trips to the hospital where she’s had to stay for days at a time. They did biopsies and on April 14, found that she has stage 4 lung cancer. Her entire chest area is filled with cancer, and they don’t know the extent of how far down the cancer goes.

Needless to say, they need financial help. Tammy is having to take time off work to care for Brittney and her baby. They have bills piling up. We all know how expensive life is, and Tammy is trying to support two households, a new baby, and medical bills for Brittney.

Tammy is the most selfless person and does not like taking help from others; however, she needs it right now. She is a hard worker and the core of her family. Brittney is giving up and we want her and Tammy to not have the stress of money during this awful time. Please consider donating.
