Help support new family battling cancer

Hello all, my name is Sara and I am a midwife with Changing Woman Initiative based in Albuquerque,NM. With permission, I've created this gofundme to support a very special family in our care that is undergoing a battle that no one should have to face without support from their community. At 37 weeks pregnant, as anticipation grew around a beautiful birth, Miranda and Eugene learned of a cancerous mass that had developed on Eugene's liver. They've remained strongly optimistic together, and it's been beautiful to see them support one another during a vulnerable and life altering time.

After an unsuccessful surgery to remove the mass, Eugene began chemotherapy and underwent many weeks of continuous hospitalization as Miranda bravely welcomed their baby earthside. We are hopeful that he will be the recipient of a liver transplant in the near future. In the meantime, he will continue fighting against the cancer with ongoing chemotherapy, all while being a doting new father and partner.
