Support Nestor Ruiz, hospitalized in Honolulu.

Dear Friends of Nestor,

We’re raising funds for our dear friend Nestor Ruiz, who is in the hospital in Honolulu undergoing treatment for lymphoma in his brain.

The tissue mass in his brain is located near his speech center so he has difficulty forming words and communicating effectively. He has also lost the use of his right arm and has partial use of his right leg.

Nestor is undergoing chemotherapy treatment to reduce the cancer in his brain and hopefully, regain his mobility and speech. 

Nestor is also in daily physical, occupational and speech therapy in which he’s making good progress each day. 

To help ease Nestor’s worries and provide him with the best possible care and treatment, we’re raising money to cover his out-of-pocket medical expenses, monthly caregiving at a care home near the hospital (starting 3/17 for 14-16 weeks) and monthly living expenses. This totals between $6500-8500 per month.

We are also submitting applications for financial assistance through Medicaid long term care and disability benefits. However, these take upwards of 5-6 months to kick in.

Nestor is so deeply grateful to everyone who is supporting him through this life-challenging illness. He is especially thankful for your continued prayers for his recovery. ❤️
