Help Support Nancy in Her Time of Need
Donation protected
In February of this year, our mom and dear friend, Nancy, developed a large lump on her neck. A CT scan indicated advanced cancer throughout her right lung, and further diagnosis showed metastatic small-cell lung carcinoma.
This news has been especially shocking because Nancy has always seemed so indomitable, so strong, and resilient. She’s led a life of courage and hard work, going to night school as a single mother to become a nurse practitioner and dedicating her life to helping others through medicine and counseling.
She’s a joyous person who loves making music, cooking, gardening, writing, traveling, playing bridge, and being with people. A gifted singer and pianist, she raised three kids and recently retired to enjoy life at her small home in Frederick, Maryland with vegetable gardens and eight rowdy chickens in tow.
She’s a spirited, determined, generous person who has stepped up tirelessly to support so many, and so it is with gratitude and love in kind that we are called to support her now, in her own time of need. Because of the poor prognosis of such extensive-stage cancers, she has chosen to focus on the quality of life and treating her cancer naturally in order to maximize the time she has left with her many loved ones.
She’s on a small fixed income and is no longer able to do much physically, so she needs our help to keep up with her mortgage and bills, and to get the help she needs to stay strong and live the best life possible.
She’s at home under hospice care and will be focusing on strengthening through diet, acupuncture, and other therapies. In addition to bills and treatments, we’d like to help her with meal service, a portable oxygen concentrator, and a helper to assist her in day-to-day chores and needs.
We offer our deepest gratitude to everyone who can help, no matter how much or how little. Your support means the world and makes a real difference. Thank you.
