I'm reaching out on behalf of my sister, who is currently facing one of the most difficult times a parent can endure. Her 17-year-old daughter, Megan, was recently hospitalized after being ill for about a week. What started as a mystery illness quickly turned into something much more serious.

A head CT performed in Traverse City revealed four lesions on Megan’s brain. She was immediately transferred to Devos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids for more specialized care. There, an MRI revealed even more lesions. Doctors are now working diligently to determine the cause. We are currently waiting on results from a lumbar puncture, and if those come back inconclusive, they may need to take samples directly from the affected areas of Megan’s brain.

My sister has been told to prepare for a long road ahead. She will need to take multiple weeks off work to be by Megan’s side during this uncertain and overwhelming time—not only to support her through diagnosis and treatment but also during the healing and recovery process, whatever that may look like.

We are asking for support to help cover essential household bills and living expenses while she is away from work. The financial stress on top of the emotional toll is a heavy burden, and any help would mean the world to our family.
