My wife, who is 38 weeks pregnant, recently suffered a severe medical emergency that has turned our lives upside down. She began a new medication to treat anemia related to her pregnancy. At first, she experienced dizziness, but soon developed what we now know was a severe allergic reaction leading to impetigo herpetiformis which is a rare condition.
What began as a rash quickly escalated into a painful, body-wide reaction. Her immune system became compromised, allowing an aggressive infection to spread. Painful hives started in her hands and feet, leaving her unable to walk, hold objects, or even rest without severe pain. At one point, she had to crawl to the bathroom because she could no longer put weight on her feet.
Her condition worsened so rapidly that emergency medical services had to transport her by ambulance to our local OB, who immediately began treatment for both her and monitoring our unborn baby. After two days, her health declined further, and she was transferred by ambulance again to a larger facility with more advanced resources. Despite these efforts, her symptoms are still worsening.
We are deeply grateful for the care she is receiving, but the costs of multiple ambulance rides, emergency hospital stays, and specialized treatments are overwhelming. With a baby due any day now, this medical crisis has placed an unimaginable strain on our family.
We are asking for help to raise $25,000 to cover her emergency medical expenses and to ensure she and our baby receive the care they desperately need. Any contribution, no matter the size, will help us through this critical time.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your support, your generosity, and your prayers for healing.
