Help Support my Para-Standing Tennis Journey!

Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out to ask for your support on an incredible journey—to defend my World and European Championship titles in para-standing tennis this June, in Barcelona and Turin.
Tennis has been at the heart of my life for over 25 years. Diagnosed with Right Sided Hemiplegia (Cerebral Palsy) at just 18 months old, I was fortunate to grow up in a family that never let my impairment define me. Sport was my outlet, and tennis quickly became my passion.
Without much visibility of Paralympic or adaptive sport growing up, I pushed myself to compete in mainstream tennis. I’ve played at a high level nationally, including British Tour events—proving to myself that disability didn’t limit my drive to compete.
Then, last year, I found para-standing tennis, a competitive format for standing players with physical impairments. I entered thinking, “Why not give it a go?”—and what followed was unbelievable.
Alongside my doubles partner Ross Cudmore, I became European and World Champion in 2024. In singles, I came agonisingly close—runner-up in both finals.
Now, in June 2025, I return to defend our titles and aim for the one that got away: the singles titles.
These events are entirely self-funded—there’s no formal backing (yet) for para-standing tennis. I’m asking for your help to cover training, coaching, equipment, and travel costs to compete in Barcelona and Turin. Your support will help me proudly represent Great Britain again—and continue to prove what’s possible in sport, regardless of disability.
Thank you for reading and for being part of this journey with me.
Best wishes,
Matt
