This year, our family received news that no one ever wants to hear — my mommy was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer. Through it all, she has faced this battle with incredible strength, faith, and grace.

After undergoing both a partial breast mastectomy and a lumpectomy this summer, we were hopeful that the hardest part was behind her. Unfortunately, we recently learned that her insurance will not cover the radiation treatments her doctors have recommended as the next critical step in her care.

These treatments are essential to help prevent the cancer from returning, but the cost has become an overwhelming burden on our family. My mommy has always been the kind of person to put everyone else first — whether it’s helping family or friends — and now we want to do everything we can to help her in return.
