Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,

We are reaching out to you during this incredibly challenging time for my mother, Sandi, a loving 61-year-old mother of three who is bravely battling Stage IV Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer. We learned about this horrible diagnosis about a month ago in the hospital on her birthday, November 14th, and it was found too late to cure. Our only hope now is treatment to prolong her life, yet the prognosis is still dire. The disease has taken a swift, serious, and painful toll on her health, as it has spread to both of her lungs and metastasized to her bones, including her femur, spine, pelvis, and ribs. Due to this aggressive illness, my mom is no longer able to work or drive, and she is finding it increasingly difficult to manage daily living expenses.

She is facing mounting financial challenges as she focuses on her treatment and recovery. While her insurance covers most of her medical expenses, she will soon encounter a substantial deductible that will add further strain on her finances. We are working tirelessly to expedite her SSDI application and exploring all available cancer support programs, but unfortunately, these efforts haven’t yet resulted in the financial assistance she urgently needs. She needs this treatment, and she needs a home, and our immediate family has exhausted our resources.

As a result, and as her situation becomes more critical, we’re reaching out for help. The funds raised through this GoFundMe campaign will go directly toward these accumulating living and medical expenses, allowing her to concentrate on her health without the constant worry of losing her apartment or falling short on essential bills. I hate seeing the few moments of clarity she has all wasted on stress and anxiety about money. We're not sure how much longer we will have her, but anything would help with costs to make what time she has left as comfortable and stress-free as possible.
