I am raising funds to support my mom, a 74-year-old widow, who is facing overwhelming challenges while trying to make ends meet in rural Namibia.
For decades, she and my late father worked hard to maintain their farm. Sadly, after my father passed away in 2020, life has become increasingly difficult. The farm has been up for sale for almost 5 years, but there has been little to no interest.
Her Current Struggles
- A severe drought in the region has devastated the land, wiping out most of the livestock and leaving her with no income.
- She is caring for my 53-year-old brother, who has been unable to work since a tragic motor accident at the age of 23.
- The farm is 150 km from the nearest town for proper medical services, making access to resources and supplies very costly and difficult.
- Her vehicles, which are a lifeline for reaching town, have also broken down and require urgent repairs.
Despite these challenges, my mom continues to do everything she can to hold things together. But right now, she urgently needs help to cover basic daily needs, transportation, and living expenses until the farm is sold.
