Help support my loved ones during war in Ukraine

Hello, in case you don’t know me, my name Anna Tiurina and I am from Kyiv, Ukraine. I was born and raised in this beautiful city and I was recently living there until the beginning of the war. Missiles flying over our heads, explosions nearby, the buildings shaking, and alarms going off all day was our reality for a few days. I was fortunate enough to have been able to leave on time before things got more complicated, but my family is still there.

My dad is the only one who can still work despite his age and, as the head of the family, he refuses to leave his job as this is the only source of income for my family. My mom lost her job, my brother is 16 and he was meant to graduate this year, and my grandparents are retired with some health problems who also refuse to leave their home for fear to not be able to sustain themselves anywhere else. Some friends dear to my heart have also been affected by the war, loosing their jobs and loved ones, and being forced to leave their homes.

Just like most Ukrainians, they all live on a day-to-day basis, which means that without a source of income they do not have savings to sustain themselve, which is another reason why my family cannot leave. Many of you have asked me how you can help me. I am fortunate enough to say that I do not need help to sustain myself, but my family and friends do.

Whoever knows me well knows that I’m not the kind of person who asks or even accepts help often even when the opportunity arises, however, I am not in a position to be able to sustain my family and friends and help them relocate.

If you are still interested and able to, I would like to ask you for your help to raise funds to help relocate and support my family as well as some of my close friends. The funds will be distributed like this: 60% will go towards my family and to help my brother with his education, and 40% will go towards my friends and loved ones who need direct support. Anything you can donate will be greatly appreciate and it will all add up to help them.

I am impressed by how the world has united to help my country and for that I will be eternally grateful. There are many fundraisers and organizations working towards helping the collective good, but this is to make sure my loved ones get the direct help they need.
