Help Support My Husband's Recovery

Dear Friends and Family,

I am reaching out to you today to ask for your support during this incredibly difficult time for our family. Three weeks ago, my husband was admitted to the hospital and has since undergone a series of complex medical procedures. He had to have a colostomy bag put in after a portion of his intestines was removed, and his heart has been struggling to function properly since his hospitalization.

The road to recovery has been particularly challenging due to the fact that my husband, a dedicated athlete who has always been passionate about strongman workouts, has an abundance of muscle mass. This excess muscle is impeding blood flow to his wounds and hindering the healing process, making his recovery much slower than expected.

As a result, he has been unable to eat for 11 days, relying solely on ice chips for sustenance. To ensure he receives the necessary nutrients, a catheter was inserted from his arm to his heart, yesterday. He will soon be transferred to a rehabilitation center to continue his recovery until his body starts functioning properly again.

The situation has taken a toll on our family in more ways than one. We have four children who need our care and attention, and the hospital is located 115 miles away from our home. This distance has made it incredibly challenging for me to balance caring for my husband, being present for our children, and maintaining my job. As a result, I have already missed two weeks of work, and the financial strain is becoming increasingly difficult to bear.

We are facing significant travel expenses, including the cost of commuting back and forth to the hospital, as well as the potential expenses associated with his rehabilitation. With the added burden of missed work, we are struggling to make ends meet and provide for our family during this trying time.

This is why I am reaching out to you today. We are in need of financial assistance to help cover the costs of travel, medical expenses, and the everyday needs of our family while my husband focuses on his recovery.
