Our family received devastating news this week — my grandfather, Larry Sr., has been diagnosed with cancer that has spread throughout his body. On Monday, October 27, 2025, he will undergo surgery to remove a tumor from his brain, followed by a biopsy to determine the exact type and stage of his cancer. We’re holding onto hope and faith that he will fight this with the same strength and determination he’s shown his entire life.

Larry has spent his life working hard and giving selflessly to others. He dedicated decades of service to Madison County, plowing roads through countless storms, late nights, and holidays. No matter the hour, he got up to make sure everyone could travel safely to their destinations and home to their families. His dedication and work ethic were unmatched.

He’s a proud father of eight children — one of whom has passed — and a devoted husband to my late grandmother, whom he loved deeply. Beyond that, he’s also a loving son, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather who has always put family first. He worked tirelessly to provide for his loved ones and to ensure that those around him were cared for. Anyone who knows Larry knows he’s the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need.

This journey ahead will be difficult — physically, emotionally, and financially. We’re asking for your prayers, love, and support as he begins this fight. Any donation, big or small, will go toward his medical expenses, travel costs, and helping our family be by his side through it all.
