Hello!
My name is Christine and I am raising money for my journey to graduate school at Sciences Po in Paris. I graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2022 with a Bachelor's in Arts and Sciences. I majored in Sociology with my concentration being on racial inequity. I graduated summa cum laude, a student of the Honors College, and was selected as the Most Inspiring Graduate of 2022.
I was accepted into the graduate program for sociological research at Sciences Po starting in August 2023. My passion lies in researching racial inequality and using that research to help create public policy that helps protect Black and Brown communities and lives.
During my freshman and sophomore years, I began my research journey into racial inequality and how that inequality is woven into every institution in America.
In my junior year, I was chosen to be a part of the first cohort of the SURF Program, a competitive program that introduced me to America's social safety nets and how they fail most Americans.
I began my senior Capstone (thesis) during my junior year and presented it multiple times.
I spent my final senior semester volunteering with a research collective where I archived data on police violence and murder.
I am fundraising this money to help out with moving costs, housing costs, and general living expenses for the two years that I will be away at school.
My dreams after graduation only involve how I can help others. I would love to work for a large non-profit such as Black Lives Matter or the Obama foundation to help create public policy that helps protect Black and Brown lives.
