UPDATE:
Hey everyone! It’s been a bit since I’ve posted an update so here goes!
I happy to announce that I am more than halfway through chemo! Only 8 more weeks to go with a tentative completion date of March 11,2025! That means 12 weeks have been completed and MAN I’ve gotta say I am ready to move on to the next phase of beating this diagnosis!
Next come a full double mastectomy, lumpectomy, and full reconstructive surgeries all unscheduled as of yet but projected to happen immediately following my completion of chemo.
The final phase will be radiation therapy in order to get any cancerous cells that manage to pop up during surgery and recovery.
I cannot thank you enough for all the love and support yall have shown my family and I in this very difficult time. The donations we have received have been a tremendous help in paying the current costs and I am so very grateful to you for your kindness and generosity!
I do not have actual out of pocket quotes for the upcoming surgeries but they will be somewhere in the vicinity of 10%-20% of the total cost, at least that is what the internet searches have said. When I have actual numbers I will update the monetary “goal” here on GoFundMe. Anything you are able to give is immensely appreciated and if you are not in a position to donate there Are absolutely no hard feelings!
If you would be so kind, please share my story. Early detection can save lives!
This is hard. It’s never been easy for me to ask for help. I prefer to just fight my way through whatever is in my way on my own terms and in my own way. But in this case, I cannot do this on my own. We live a simple life and are able to pay our way, but with me needing to be out of work for an undetermined amount of time, money will be more than tight.
I am confident in my ability to fight my breast cancer and to win not only the battle, but also the war. It is an aggressive form of breast cancer and is quick to regenerate and spread. I’ve been told my chances of surviving are good, but that it can and probably will come back two to three times over the course of my life if it isn’t completely eradicated now.
To do this, I will need a full round of chemo followed by a full double mastectomy and lymph node removal. After all that, there will be some form of post-treatment therapy such as radiation or immunotherapy. And then comes reconstruction. None of these steps comes cheap and even though we have decent insurance, our out-of-pocket expenses will be more than we can afford. I am humbly asking my family and friends to help… with tears in my eyes and my heart on my sleeve…
I will never be able to thank everyone enough for all the love and support; it is all incredibly appreciated. You are all incredibly appreciated. I am so blessed and so grateful to have each of you in my life and by my side, standing with me as I fight.
