Hi my name is Emily Struck. I am 21 years old and have just been offered a place to study Commercial Dance at the Institute of the Arts Barcelona.

Having grown up with a mom who was a professional ballet dancer, it was a given that I would end up in a tutu at 3 years old ;-) But it didn't take long for me to realize that dancing was something I actually enjoyed.

At 8 years old I got the opportunity to dance the role of Little Odette in the Theater Kiel's prodtuction of Swan Lake. This moment changed something in me as I discovered my strong passion for performing on stage. It showed me that this was something I wanted to pursue not just as a hobby but as a profession.

Since then I have started training in different Commercial Dance Styles and have decided that I want to pursue my career in this field. This past year I joined the Foundation Dance Program of the Institute of the Arts Barcelona, a school that not only offered me great training, but also helped me grow as a person and as a dancer.

After working very hard this past year I got accepted into the schools Bachelor Program in Commercial Dance. While I couldn't be happier about this amazing opportrunity, I am faced with the challenge of making a college degree and the costs of living work financially.

It was suggested to me to make this Go Fund Me Page which at first I wasn't sure to do. But in the end I have decided that I have nothing to lose by writing this page.

The goal is set at 12,000€ which would cover the 1st year of tuition costs, but any small amount would help tremendously.

I would be forever grateful for any help or support so that I can continue my education at the IAB and pursue my life's dream of becoming a professional dancer.
