*PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ MY POST AND MY STORY*
Hello, My name is Gabriela Salgado. I am making this gofundme page for my Dad, Francisco. We are in need of help and support during this very difficult time. My dad has a rare form of cancer called signet ring cell adenocarcinoma.
My dad is a very hard working man, he does construction work, such as remolding homes, metal roofing, shingles, framing, and so much more. His hard work is what provides his family food for the house, paying the bills, and making sure we a roof over our heads.
Unfortunately, few weeks back my dad became very ill. He was throwing up constantly, not being able to keep anything down. He also had a very hard time using the bathroom (no bowel movements). He never goes to the doctors or complains about being in pain. So when he said he was in pain and needed to go to the hospital.. you know something isn't right.
April 6th, 2019 my mom took my dad to the emergency room. My dad was given fluids because he was very dehydrated, he was also given antibiotics because the doctor thought he had a stomach virus. He did come back home that day.
Few days pass and he is still throwing up and complaining of pain in his stomach. His stomach was very bloated and hard, which was very concerning. So April 9th, 2019 my mom took him back to the hospital and from there he was admitted to the hospital and they performed a CAT Scan and that is when they found out what the problem was. He has a blockage in the lower intestine, which the doctor believe could be a tumor. He was scheduled to have surgery the next day (April 10th, 2019), to have the tumor removed. They were able to get the tumor out and have it tested to find out whether or not it was cancerous. He also has a colostomy bag now. He had to stay at the hospital for about a week for recovery. He came home on the 15th of April.
Today, April 23rd, he had a follow up appointment and to discuss the results from his tumor. This is when we found out my dad has a RARE form of cancer called..Signet Ring Cell Adenocarcinoma. They are not sure what stage he is at, or if its anywhere else in his body. Also, they are not sure if this type of cancer is treatable. My dad has to get more scans done to check and see if it has spread anywhere else. He also has an appointment coming up this Friday for treatment (Chemotherapy).
Since he will be having such treatment, he will be out of work and needs to be taking it easy..and making sure he is well taken care of.
Please consider helping us with the medical bills and expenses, as we are struggling during this difficult time
Thank you for taking the time to read my story about my dad's rare cancer. We appreciate all the help and support in advance.
