Hi y’all!
My name is Chantay & I am starting this GoFund me account in regards to my father, Billy Sparks. Here I am going to go into a little bit of details as to why I am starting this, but first I want to share some background information about my loving father.
He is a proud father of 2 children, my younger brother & myself & an even more proud grandfather of my four children. Throughout his normal work week of doing lawn care, on the weekend you can often find him at Bluegrass Festivals with his band, playing & visiting with his grand babies , or just taking it easy in his recliner in the comfort of his own home.
My dad is the type of person to give you his last, even if he doesn’t have it, he will make a way to get it then turn around & give it to you. With all of this being said, there has been many of times that my dad has gave to me when he didn’t have it, so now it’s my turn to take care of him.
Back in November on the 22nd of 2017, my dad was rushed to Riverside by ambulance & upon arrival he had actually coded on the table. Later we had found out that he was in an active heart-attack that most people don’t survive & that is called a “widow-makers heart-attack.” After receiving the proper care & getting stints put in, he later was discharged after a few days.
Fast forward to December 9th 2019, my dad had experienced severe pain in his abdomen area, this is where Riverside had found that his gallbladder needed to be removed proceeded with emergency surgery because gangrene has started to settle in.
In early December of 2023 my father lost his wife due to cancer after the long battle that she had fought so hard for.
& now out current situation, after being told for months from everyone who knows & cares for my dad, he finally decided to make an appointment for his heart & that is where they did a stress test of his heart which is actually functioning great. When they did his chest x-ray though on June 24th they discovered a lobe nodule on the upper right part of his lung. They immediately set him up with a cat-scan which took place on June 27th where they could see the mass more in depth.
On July 24th after meeting with a surgeon at the James Cancer Clinic, they confirmed that he has stage one cancer. He will need extensive surgery called “lobectomy” where they will remove the upper right part of his lung. With all of this being said, my dad will be out of work for quite some time & is going to be in need of some help not only with his monthly bills, but also with his medical bills.
I am asking for help at this time as my dad has a lot of health concerns & doesn’t need to stress about anything other than what he is about to face. If you cannot donate at this time I completely understand, all I am asking for is just a click of a share button & the power is a prayer.
As always, thank you for taking the time to read & everything that we encounter is so appreciated.
