Hi, my name is Caitlyn, and I’m fundraising for my dad.
Recently, our lives changed in a way we never could have prepared for. My dad suffered 2 severe strokes in which left him fighting for life in icu the first one in the arteries of the brain and the second one in the brain stem which controls vital functions like breathing and heart rate. We were told to say our goodbyes and only had 2 hours left with my dad. He is still here and still fighting every single day but the reality of what we’re facing has been incredibly overwhelming and truly heartbreaking.
This has completely changed our lives in ways we never could have imagined. Our dad will never be the same again, and coming to terms with this new reality is something we wouldn’t wish on anyone.
We are still trying to process everything and stay strong for our dad but the truth is, life as we knew it has changed forever. We’ve watched our dad fight for his life, and continue to fight every single day.
We’ve been told that my dad may never be able to walk, talk, eat, or care for himself independently again. This has been absolutely heartbreaking for our family, and something we are still trying to come to terms with.
My dad has always been such a strong, hardworking, and loving person, and seeing him like this is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone.
Since this has happened, my brother and I have been doing everything we can to keep things going. We are currently covering our mortgage on our own, as well as my dad’s car expenses, while constantly being at the hospital as much as possible and care for his dog Ruby
On top of that, we’ve both had to take time off work to to be by his side , which has added even more financial pressure during an already incredibly difficult time.
I never imagined I would be in a position where I’d have to ask for help like this, but right now, I’m doing this for him.
The funds raised will go towards supporting my dad’s ongoing care, medical-related expenses, and helping ease the financial strain on our family so we can focus on being there for him during his recovery.
If you’re able to donate, no matter how small, it would mean more than I could ever put into words. And if you’re not in a position to donate, even sharing this would help more than you know.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for any support
