Help support my beautiful Mum!

Hi! For those who don’t know me, my names Katie and I’m starting this go fund me in support of my incredible parents, Joy and Martin.

My mum, Joy, was recently diagnosed with stage 2 pancreatic cancer and is about to start her battle through chemo and surgery. As you can imagine, this news in itself has been incredibly difficult to process. Whilst journeying through what this season holds for them and what life is going to look like, my parents have also been journeying through some financial difficulties.

Recently, my parents vehicle was damaged beyond repair, and they have since been saving money in hopes to purchase a new vehicle. With this diagnoses now on the table, the need for a new vehicle is even greater as they are required to travel to Brisbane regularly for treatment, surgery and specialist appointments.

To give you a bit more content, my beautiful mum is also self employed, and runs her own local cleaning business. Due to the nature of her work, she has been unable to work for quite some time and will continue to be unable to work for the foreseeable future, whilst undergoing chemotherapy and surgery to remove her cancer. This has made it quite a difficult time for them financially, going down to one income. Alongside this, our dad has also had to take a significant amount of time off work to support and care for our mum, and will likely need to continue to do this during her treatment period as well.

As you can imagine, the financial burden has been significant for them. Saving for a car, on top of the medical bills, paying for a mortgage and supporting their family, has become nearly impossible. So, we have simply set up this go fund me in hopes to provide some financial relief. Any donations made to this fund will go directly to the purchase of a new car, and any medical and travel costs involved in her treatment. We understand not everyone may be able to give financially, so your thoughts and prayers are so appreciated as well.

If you know them, you would know that they are such hard workers and have always put others first and helped those around them whenever they are able to. They are incredibly deserving of any help they can get! We so appreciate any donations made, no matter how big or small.
