Help Support my Amputee Kitten Ace
Donation protected
Hi,
My name is Nick and I am a 20-year-old college student who just recently adopted my kitten, Ace. He is the cutest most cuddly little kitty you will ever meet I love him to death!
He recently had surgery which caused him to have to wear a cone for two weeks. He was doing well for the first week until he decided to take a leap of faith from my desk chair to my desk which is about 3 feet high. My little dude ended up missing the jump, and because of the cone, he could not see where he was landing. This, in turn, led to him falling awkwardly and breaking his femur. He was splinted at first with hopes of it healing from that, but when I had a second specialist look at him 12 days later they urged me to get him to a surgeon ASAP to see if they could fix this. I then took him to an orthopedic surgeon where they examined his leg and explained to me that the best decision for my own kitties' sake would be to amputate the leg. It sounds so awful, but in the end, if they tried to repair it, it would be an extremely painful and miserable recovery for him. This would give him the best quality of life moving forward so I decided to have the surgeon amputate it:(( This is going to be a long, painful, uncomfortable, and weird recovery for him, and the surgery, as well as the caretaking he will need, is going to empty my pockets and even send me into the negatives. I will be using this money raised to help cover the cost of the amputation which will be 6000$ as well as all the materials he needs for his recovery. Anything helps as my baby boy has a long recovery ahead of him! Thank you so so so much!!
