On Monday, September 8, 2025, our family was shaken by a devastating event: my future son-in-law, Mikey Nickels was involved in a horrific motor vehicle accident. He was airlifted to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA, where doctors discovered multiple serious injuries — including a fractured cheekbone, a broken right arm, and a severe third-degree burn on his right calf. He also received four staples to treat a head injury, along with numerous bumps and bruises.

Due to the severity of the burn, he was later transferred to the burn unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital for specialized care. He has already undergone one skin graft procedure and is currently awaiting evaluation to determine if another will be necessary. His recovery will be long and challenging.

We are incredibly grateful that he survived, but the accident has left him unable to work. As a small business owner, this has placed a tremendous financial strain on him. Medical bills are already arriving, and the costs of ongoing treatment, rehabilitation, and daily living expenses continue to grow.
